Project Info:
An abandoned United Methodist Church in an emerging urban neighborhood has been given new life as a High School for troubled youth. Attributes of the existing building were retained and enhanced such as the cascading steps at the former church main entry now provides a gathering place for students augmented by structured planters. The adjacent church parsonage is now the new administrative offices for the school and is connected to the original sanctuary structure via a new glass connector. On the interior, the worship space is now the student lounge and casual meeting space.
